Case Study: Lara Mlaker

From Creative Vision to a Grounded "Dance Embodiment Program for Women"

How Our Collaboration Began

Alja Berk facilitating a conscious business workshop with a group of coaches and creatives, smiling and guiding discussion

Lara and I first met at Flows Festival in Ugljan, Croatia. She came to my workshop there. I didn’t know her personally at the time, but something clearly landed, because a few months later she reached out for a discovery call.

In that first conversation, she told me the workshop was what made her trust me enough to reach out. That meant a lot to hear.

Lara is one of those people who has an incredibly rich inner world – she sees possibilities everywhere, and her creative mind moves fast. The challenge with Lara wasn’t that she had doubts about her own value. She knew her work was good and she had a strong sense of self-worth.

What she was missing was a clear structure to build around it. She had ideas ranging from online subscriptions to live dance memberships to group journeys, and she needed someone experienced in the field of business to help her think through what to actually build first, and how

From scattered ideas to one clear offer

Lara had ideas pulling her in many directions – online subscriptions, live memberships, group journeys, individual sessions. We needed to find the one thread that was most true, most ready, and most aligned with where she actually wanted to go.

From scattered ideas to one clear offer

We defined the difference between her group and individual offers, and we built her signature program for both: a 2-month Dance Embodiment Program for Women. Moving away from single sessions or monthly subscription and into a structured journey was a reflection of the depth of what she actually does and what she is capable of.

This is important context for anyone who doesn’t yet know Lara’s work: intuitive-integrative movement is a body-based approach to processing what talking alone can’t reach – grief, frozen nervous systems, unexpressed anger, lost boundaries. When conversation has taken you as far as it can, the body often still holds the rest. That’s the space Lara holds.

Naming what she really holds

Then came the market research phase, which always reveals something useful. What came up for Lara was this: to communicate her pricing clearly, she needed to show more explicitly what she’s actually holding in her work – the ability to be with women in grief, in nervous system activation, in the deeper somatic layers.

That capacity didn’t come from nowhere. Her own path back to her body – through loss, through periods of deep disconnection, through her own ‘dance embodiment journey’ in Spain and Bali – is what gave her the ability to hold that space for others. Once she started naming that, the value became much more visible.

Getting specific about who she serves

We also got specific about who her program is for. Not just “women who want to dance”, but women who appear functional on the outside and feel frozen or empty on the inside. Women who are tired of living in their heads. Women who have done the talking – the therapy, the journaling, the self-development work – and still feel something stuck in their body that words haven’t reached. That shift in language changed everything about how she talks about her work.

Building the content and sales strategy

From the market research results, we built a 5-week warm-up content plan for her Instagram leading up to the official launch in April 2026:

  • Week 1: Recognition – calling out what it feels like to live disconnected from your body
  • Week 2: Her story – from learning to dance in Spain and Bali to finding her own intuitive movement
  • Week 3: Social proof – sharing real client experiences like Patricija’s
  • Week 4: Education – why movement is sometimes the necessary next step after talk therapy
  • Week 5: The reveal – opening the program

Alongside the content, we worked on the sales process. For Lara, this meant starting real conversations with women she already felt a genuine connection with – not insensitively selling, but checking in, following curiosity, and only inviting someone to the next step if there was authentic interest on both sides. We mapped out the full flow: from a comment or DM, to a discovery call, to a written offer they could consider in their own time. Sales that feels like helping, not convincing.

Building the practical foundation

On the practical side, she set up a simple discovery call system through Calendly, mapped out her priority work actions across sales, content and personal time, and built a realistic timeline for filling her first group.
